Brentford Star Faces Ban After Breaching Betting Rules

Bees striker Ivan Toney could be banned from football for six months after breaching betting rules.

The Brentford attacker was charged with 232 alleged breaches between 2017 and 2021.

The 26-year-old admitted to some of the charges but has denied others and has submitted a response to the FA.

A hearing date has yet to be set by the FA but when it is, it will be up to an Independent Regulatory Commission to reach a verdict and decide on any punishment.

Pundits predict a football ban of a “minimum six months” is likely when the hearing takes place, potentially in April this year.

Toney has scored 26 goals in the last two seasons with the West London club.
