10Bet Agree £620,000 Settlement

Blue Star Planet Ltd, who operates sportsbook 10Bet, has agreed to a £620,000 settlement with the UK Gambling Commission following an investigation.

The investigation by the regulatory body found failures in the company’s social responsibility and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies, procedures and controls.

They found that deposit limits were “too high” and that financial limits “put in place to control how much more a customer could deposit and gamble after reaching an AML risk alert, and before satisfactory risk profiling could take place, were set too high.”

Blue Star Planet Ltd also accepted that at the time of the assessment, “some customers were able to gamble at high velocity before automated restrictions were applied to the customer’s account.”

The company also accepted that it had not employed dedicated staff to monitor compliance overnight, meaning “some customers were permitted to hit several safer gambling triggers without risk assessments and interactions occurring in real-time.”

The report published by the UK Gambling Commission on Thursday, 16 February 2023, makes it clear the money will go to socially responsible causes and notes 10Bet’s early recognition of the failures, the steps taken to remedy the situation, and their cooperation during the investigation.
